Hot Stuff is the lead single from Donna Summer's seventh studio album "Bad Girls."
The single was released in June of 1979. The song features a guitar solo by ex-Doobie Brother & Steely Dan guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
It is known as one of Donna's most popular songs.
Up to that point, Donna had mainly been associated with disco songs but this song also showed significant rock influences on it.
"Hot Stuff" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three non-consecutive weeks. It also topped Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart along with her follow-up single "Bad Girls" as a double A-side.
Internationally, the song also topped the charts in Australia, Canada & Switzerland.
The song won Donna the Grammy Award for "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance" in the inaugural year that the award was given out.
